[lastfm]The Clash[/lastfm] released Combat Rock on May 14, 1982. It was their only top 10 album in the United States. [pullquote quote="...their biggest seller, but the beginning of the end." credit="Q Magazine"] The band began to fall apart just before the release of the album.
Just before Combat Rock was released, [lastfm]Topper Headon[/lastfm] was asked to leave the band because of his heroin addiction. [lastfm]Terry Chimes[/lastfm] was brought in replace Topper, but he left the band after the Combat Rock Tour because of the fighting between [lastfm]Joe Strummer[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Mick Jones[/lastfm]. Jones was fired in September 1983.
