In what’s being called an overtly sexual performance, the pairing of Marilyn Manson with Johnny Depp and Taylor Momsen set Downtown LA’s Club Nokia a blaze last night.
The performance was on of several during the 2012 Revolver Magazine Golden Gods Awards, a bash honoring achievements in hard rock.
Manson started his roughly 20-minute set with his now classic single “The Dope Show.” During the performance, The Pretty Reckless’ frontwoman, Taylor Momsen, joined the prince of darkness on stage wearing a skin-tight black leather outfit. Momsen brought down the house with a provocative display of sexuality as she writhed over Manson.
After performing his latest single “No Reflection,” he launched into his classic cover of “Sweet Dreams.” As if his duet with Momsen wasn’t enough, Manson took the opportunity to one-up himself by bringing out Johnny Depp who proceeded to play guitar for the duration of the song.
After a few powerful expletives to hype the crowd into a frenzy, the duo launched into “The Beautiful People.” Manson and Depp were clearly having fun as they ended the show side by side, as friends who’d just stolen the night.
After meeting each other at the 2006 premiere of Pirates Of The Caribbean, Manson and Depp became fast friends. Depp recently contributed to Manson’s cover of Carly Simon’s 1972 hit “You’re So Vain.”
