On today’s Rewind, we featured a mid 80′s Tom Petty song which Petty broke his hand recording. Find out which song it is by clicking through.
It was the song “Rebels” that Petty broke his hand recording in 1984. It was eventually released on 1985′s “Southern Accents” album.
Petty recalls being so high on drugs in the studio that he was unable to come up with an appropriate arrangement for the song. He walked up a flight of stairs and did what any forward-thinking man does, he punched a hole in the wall, breaking his hand.
It is thought by most in Petty’s camp that this song is one of his least favorite – due to his broken hand.
