We know “squackett” sounds like some sort of hybrid of squash and racquetball but it’s actually a band name.
Chris Squire of [mp3com-artist]YES[/mp3com-artist] and Steve Hackett, formerly of [mp3com-artist]Genesis[/mp3com-artist], are forming a new band called Squackett.
The pair have signed with Esoteric Records and plan to release a new album on May 8, 2012.
The release has been a long time coming. Squire originally told Billboard that Squackett would tour in the spring of 2009 saying, “We’re nearly 75 percent done. It’s real good. Steve Hackett is a very underrated writer and actually a very good singer. We’re doing a lot of harmonizing, and some of it is almost in the Crosby, Stills & Nash vein.”
