The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2002 was announced on December 13, 2001. That class included [lastfm]Isaac Hayes[/lastfm], [lastfm]Talking Heads[/lastfm], [lastfm]Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers[/lastfm], and [lastfm]The Ramones[/lastfm]. [lastfm]Eddie Vedder[/lastfm], wearing a mohawk, made the speech inducting [lastfm]The Ramones[/lastfm].

They are now hailed as one of the most influential American bands, and their music reaches more ears today than it did during those hard-working years when they were loudly going about the revolutionary business of reinventing rock and roll.
