Slowly but surely, the beer/wine aisles will be illuminated on Sunday and liquor stores are starting to open. Find out where you can buy alcohol on Sunday.
Over the weekend, Sunday alcohol sales began in Woodstock, Jonesboro, Avondale Estates Auburn, Braselton, Duluth, Grayson, Lawrenceville, Snellville, Sugar Hill, Suwanee, Alpharetta, College Park, East Point, Milton, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Union City.
One retailer in Sandy Springs had a sign up inside their store reading “The Votes Are In: We Sell Alcohol On Sundays”. I visited Dixie Beverage on Hwy 92 in Woodstock where there were people outside waiting to be part of history, being among those first to buy alcohol on Sunday.
There was quite a crowd at The Growler in Avondale Estates, where some 20 people were lined up before 12:30pm. Crowds of 40 were reported snaking around the building later in the afternoon.
Flowery Branch residents also appear to be very happy with the Sunday sales. Gainesville will have Sunday sales starting on Dec. 11. Next Sunday will bring more cities into the mix. Atlanta will have Sunday alcohol sales beginning January 1.
So how are you feeling about Sunday sales? Did you go and buy on Sunday?
